Gabion
Gabion is a structure of wire mesh baskets filled with rocks and placed in a wide stream bed.
Trincheras
Trincheras are loose rock formations to control erosion by slowing the flow of rainwater runoff. Slowing the water, and retaining sediment, allows vegetation to recover.
Berm
A berm is a directional and continual mound of earth to bring runoff water to a desired location.
Retention Pond
Collector of rainwater runoff used for cattle, and wildlife drinking and for storage.
Planting
Planting trees and grass is essential to hold the soil. Restoring the land requires time to allow its healing. It will take several seasons to heal the soil therefore it is necessary to protect the new plantings.
